Hey gorgeous ladies!.. today I am going to review the silk and shine hair potion (serum)… previously I have also reviewed the livon hair serum and personally I somewhat prefer this silk and shine serum to the livon one.. for two reasons Viz.
- no mineral oil in this silk and shine serum
- Doesn’t weigh down hair
Now, as I have already discussed earlier why I am so particular about avoiding silicone based moisturisers (inspite of the beautiful glossy glaze it brings to hair)….so,I am not going into the details..
So, straight to the product:
It comes in a cute little transparent bottle with a flip cap containing the serum which is a transparent, somewhat thick, spreads evenly on palms as well as on hair.
Cyclomethicone, dimethiconol, Fragrance, Vitamin E, Phenyl Trimethicone and Fruit Extracts
Enriched with Fruit-Vitamins, it works naturally to soften dry, dull, frizzy and damaged hair. In a matter of minutes, Silk and Shine hair potion erases the harmful effect of dust, prolonged exposure to sunlight, chemicals and hard water and instantly gives you parlour-like silky hair.
No matter what your hair-type is, Silk and Shine hair potion can set it free from almost every hair problems. So don’t let hair problems tear you and your hair apart. Fall in love with your hair again.
Pour a coin-sized amount on your palm….apply on damp hair and gently comb through.
The 18 ml bottle costs 37 INR… and the 3 ml sachets cost 3 INR….so,sachets are way cheaper again!
(P.S. you can also get it 50 ml and 100 ml bottles)
Around 2 years
( You will use it up in few months though)
My take on this product:
I apply it on damp shampooed hair.. I take a small amount on my palm and work it in evenly though my hairs (avoiding scalp:no moisturisers on scalp except oil)My hair gets detangled to some extent and yes, it does not give any greasy look and neither does it weigh down my hair (complete non-sticky formulation)… After drying my hair looks silky and glossy as per the product claims.
Give it a thumbs up 👍 for:
- Affordable (or rather cheap)
- Travel friendly
- Has a great fruity (somewhat citrus) smell
- Does not weigh down hair
- Detangles hair
- Hair doesn’t look greasy
- Give a silky and glossy look to hair on drying
- Doesn’t contain mineral oil
- Suits all hair types
- Easily available
Give it a thumbs down 👎 for:
- Contains silicones
- Can’t be applied on dry hair (but this doesn’t matter anyways)
My overall opinion on this product:
Great hair serum I must say… just that containing silicones is a problem (but silicone free serums are costiler, doesn’t give that glossy look and less available in market as well…. plus the build up can be washed off in 1-2 washes.)
I have already rebought it many times and will also stick to brand unless I need serums that are specialised for frizz control of my hair in case it’s too unmanageable!
How much would I rate it out of 10:
I would rate it 9 out of 10 !
