Lakme eyeconic eyeliner review

Hey pretty ladies! Don’t we all love to explore a variety of styles in coloured eyeliners and find them fascinating any day? But in case you haven’t explored this part of makeup, and would love to give it a try, I will tell you which shade to start with : BROWN

Yes, brown is the shade for beginners and yet experts never stop exploring with this shade. For beginners, here are a few reasons why:

  • Brown is too close to black and for some people, the eye colour is also naturally brown ; hence, no chance of messing up with this colour
  • It gives a subtle, natural or nude makeup look
  • Can be used filling or lining the eyebrows
  • Can be used as lipliner

Today I will be reviewing the lakme eyeconic eyeliner of the shade brown.

About the product:

The product comes in a retractable eyeliner stick, very similar to the lakme eyeconic eyeliner. The colour is matte brown (without any sparkles or shimmers: that’s how I love it) . The formulation is creamy and pigmentation is good.

Price: 275 INR

My take on this product:

Firstly what I like about this product, is the shade…. the brown is not too dark to be confused with black and not too light that it can’t be noticed. Secondly, after a lot of searching, I finally found a brown eyeliner without any shimmers or glitters that is completely matte and can aptly complement a nude makeup look.

I tried wearing it on the eyelid as eyeliner and also on the lower waterline like a kohl. For a light Smokey look it can be used as a base but you must have some eyeshadow of the brown family to top it. Using this eyeliner solely as shadow isn’t really a good idea as , it won’t smoke out very smooth (a little smoking out is possible, not much)  plus it will smudge at the crease. On the lower waterline it doesn’t smudge much, so not an issue!

As lipliner, its a liner for eyebrows or filling eyebrows, its good ,but not great! Because of its creamy texture, the finish on eyebrows isn’t the best, but hey, it was formulated as an eyeliner : so no complaints.

I would give it a thumbs up 👍 for:

  • Affordable
  • Completely matte
  • Can be used both as eyeliner and kohl
  • Smudges very little
  • Can also be used as lipliner also

I would give it a thumbs down 👎 for :

  • Doesn’t smoke out too smooth
  • Pigmentation could have been better

P.S. the cons are not really complaints as this is the best that could be expected at this price.

How much would I rate it out of 5:

4.5 out of 5
