Lakme 9to5 cc (complexion care) cream review

I am back today with the review of the Lakme 9to5 cc (complexion care) cream. This is not one of the products which I use regularly but I once happened to borrow it from my friend because I wasn’t carrying any makeup there and we both used the same product for the day but ended up having different opinions about it…and I will be sharing both!

About the product:

The product comes in a tube with a very very tiny orifice and it has 4 different shades to choose from, viz. Beige, bronze, almond and honey.

Product description:

The Lakme CC cream moistures brighten and freshen your skin while enriching it with a hint of makeup. With sun protection of SPF 30 and makeup benefits like even skin tone and skin coverage, this cream takes complete care of your complexion. The beige variant of this CC cream blends in seamlessly when applied to light to wheatish skin tone. This cream can also be used along with other products or on its own if you prefer just the lightest touch of make-up. This travel pack is compact and easy to carry – which makes it just like taking your mini stylist everywhere. Furthermore, the Lakme CC cream comes in a chic sturdy packaging with a well fitted rose gold cap. Lakme 9 to 5 CC Cream brings you the best of both worlds: It’s skincare with a touch of makeup to give you the perfect look, for any occasion, in an instant.

Our take on this product:

Before I start, I must mention, my skin type, as you all know, is oily, but friend’s skin type is dry.

This product needs to be applied more like a cream rather than like a foundation (with a brush or sponge). So, once we started, we both found that spreading and blending this product is quite tough, even though our skin was well moisturised. So, we wiped off our faces with a cotton dabbed with toner and cleaned our faces first. Then we mixed a bit of moisturizer with the cc cream on our palms and tried blending it on our skin. That way, she ended up with a very even and natural finish and her skin was looking totally flawless (coming to the flaws, she just has little uneven skin tone and no other blemishes)

I, on the other hand, was looking disastrous!!!😫😫😫

My face was super greasy and all the acne marks (as the product has zero coverage) were peeping through which I tried building up with some more cc cream but alas…I just ended up looking cakey.. finally I tried setting it with the Lakme compact, which improved the look a bit…but that’s not how I wanted to go out…so I wiped off everything 😭

I would give it a thumbs up 👍 for:

  • Price
  • Packaging
  • Availability
  • Good for people with minimum skin flaws

I would give it a thumbs down 👎 for:

  • Doesn’t spread well or blend well without a moisturizer mixed
  • No coverage
  • Building up not possible

How much would I rate it out of 5:

Well, I would rate it 1 , but she would rate it 5.

Everything depends on your skin type!
