EVAKLIN intimate wash review

Today I will be reviewing something that is not a skincare product, not a makeup product but yet it is an everyday essential…yes, it is when it comes to personal hygiene….this a feminine intimate wash: EVAKLIN intimate wash. ( manufactured by KLM laboratories)

Why use an intimate wash?

Before going into the details of this particular product,  I will be briefing a little on why using an intimate wash is so important for cleansing of the private area and not any ordinary soap, body wash, face wash,  shampoo etc. etc. Can replace it.

Firstly,  it is very important to know that the pH of the female genital area , specially the inner surfaces is a bit lower (acidic) than any other part of our body. But, most cleansers (for skin, hair and body) are surfactant based and hence it’s pH is much higher ( i.e. on the alkaline side) . Thus this can irritate your skin ,cause a burning sensation and can also give the harmful bacteria a favourable environment to grow and multiply. On the other hand,  skipping the cleansing part can cause  infections and even breakout to form external cysts.

So, now  as we know, that cleansing with an intimate wash is very important, let me tell you that there are a number of intimate hygiene products available in the market (drugstore as well as online) and the basic functioning of most of the products are more or less the same ( except that some have a few extra antibacterial ingredients, some of which are chemical based and rarely others are natural )…and the prices of the drugstore ones are also more or less the same. But still,  I particularly picked up the one which my gynaecologist suggested me and it really benefitted me to a lot extent.

About the product:

The product comes in a plastic white bottle with a pink flip cap and the cleanser is transparent and very liquid and runny and has a beautiful fragrance.

Price:

170 INR for 100 ml

My take on this product:

Firstly,  I  am unhappy with the packaging and consistency as it is a bit clumsy to use. I wish it had a tube packaging with a very small orifice and the consistency would have been a bit less runny.

Anyways,  in spite of the packaging,  the quality of the product remains unabated. I need a very little amount of it and it can be worked up into a little lather ( not much, as it’s not surfactant based). I  need to spend a minute or two for complete cleansing and I can literally feel the freshness down there afterwards. I  don’t feel any kind of burning sensation while using it as it is completely pH balanced and with regular use, I am totally free from any kind of itching, irritation or breakouts down there.  In a line, I am quite happy with the product.

I would give it a thumbs up 👍 for:

  • Affordable
  • Nice fragrance
  • No irritation
  • Cleanses well
  • pH balanced
  • Free from any kind of harmful chemicals like sulphates, parabens, SLS etc.

I would give it a thumbs down 👎 for:

  • Packaging and consistency 👎
  • Availability might be a problem

How much would I rate it out of 5:

4.5 out of 5
